Strategic Discussion between YASA, MARA & Bermaz Auto Berhad: Empowering Education and Skills of Pahang Youth

Kuantan, 29 July 2025 – The Al-Sultan Abdullah Foundation (YASA), in collaboration with the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), held a strategic discussion session at the Airis Meeting Room, YASA-MUIP Academy. The session was also attended by industry representatives from Bermaz Auto Berhad.

This discussion brought together top leadership and key stakeholders to chart a shared direction in strengthening the ecosystem of education, skills training, and human capital development for the youth of Pahang, particularly among Bumiputera youths from B40 families.

The meeting was chaired by the General Manager of YASA, Tuan Haji Mohd Fakhrul Islam bin Juhali, together with Ir Dr Haji Mahzan bin Teh, Deputy Director General (Education) of MARA. Also in attendance was YH Dato’ Haji Shamsuddin bin Haji Amran, Head of After Sales Department, Bermaz Auto Berhad.

The discussion focused on the empowerment of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as one of the main pathways for developing highly skilled human capital among the youth of Pahang.

This collaboration is expected to leverage MARA’s expertise in TVET delivery and the extensive experience of the Bermaz Auto Training School in providing industry-standard automotive training. This synergy will create high-impact learning and training opportunities, in line with the aspiration to develop a competent, innovative, and globally competitive workforce.

YASA views this initiative as a long-term strategic effort to empower the human capital of Pahang’s youth, in line with the state’s vision of producing a knowledgeable, highly skilled generation capable of seizing opportunities in the future economic landscape.
