About Us
Established on 11 September 1996, YASA aims to help under-privileged Malaysians through education, religious, welfare and healthcare initiative.
Under its Education initiative, YASA has a long-running program, Menara Gading Academy which aims to reduce poverty through academic excellence. The two-year program pools together high school students from less fortunate families to prepare them academically for the national exam Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia and ensuring they get access to proper and quality tertiary education.
Apart from that, YASA currently operates three religious education centres in Pahang for around 300 primary school students from poor families.
Realizing that nonprofit organizations are important providers of immediate welfare assistance to the community, YASA also has various, far-reaching welfare initiatives targeting multiple groups of recipients, from immediate cash handouts for disaster victims to donations for those in needs.
YASA’s latest endeavour, under its Healthcare initiative, is the establishment of hemodialysis centres in Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur and Pahang, catering specifically to chronic kidney patients from middle- and lower-income bracket groups.
The cost of hemodialysis treatment at the centres are borne by YASA, with the assistance from generous and caring organisations as well as individuals, or through CSR initiative by various corporations.
Throughout the years, YASA has been actively assisting kidney patients and established several dialysis centres in Malaysia in order to assist more citizen in need.
