TRAGEDY OF THE ROYAL MALAYSIAN NAVY HELICOPTER CRASH

In line with the media statement issued by the Pahang Palace, His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, and Her Royal Highness the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah binti Almarhum Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj, expressed deep sadness and sorrow over the helicopter crash tragedy in Lumut, Perak yesterday.

The crash claimed the lives of 10 victims, consisting of 7 crew members and 3 passengers, and involved two helicopters, namely the HOM-AW139 and Fennec models.

The tragedy occurred while they were conducting a formation flight rehearsal for a ceremonial flypast at the Royal Malaysian Navy Base in Lumut.

Following this, His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang decreed that all mosques in the state of Pahang hold funeral prayers in absentia in light of this tragedy.

We, from the entire staff of Yayasan Al-Sultan Abdullah, also express our sorrow over the incident. We pray that the families of the victims are granted strength and perseverance in facing this trial.
